Who We Are

Blue Rock Families

Rock BWGlyn and Cindy Thorman’s family home is on MM, just south of the Blue Rock property. Their small farm has been in the family for over 100 years. Glyn’s father Robert was the long-time shoe maker in Osceola. Cindy is from Balsam Lake where her grandparents farmed in the 1920s. Some of the original property on Balsam Lake is still owned by the family. Glyn is a reliability consultant and has traveled extensively for major industrial companies. Cindy is on the board of directors for Polk-Burnett Electric and previously worked in accounting and media broadcasting. The Thormans have three daughters, the youngest a graduate of UW-La Crosse.

Jim and Jeanne Rochford are long-time residents of Dresser. Jim’s dad purchased Trollhaugen in 1967. The Rochford name in Amery goes back to the turn of the century. Both Rochfords have been employed at Trollhaugen for 40-50+ years each. Currently their son and his wife operate the winter and summer recreational business. Long supporters of Dresser, the Rochfords are well known for their employment of area residents and for their generosity in supporting both the community and families throughout Polk County. Portions of the Blue Rock Quarry are on original Trollhaugen property.
